Chocolate Chicken
So you may be wondering about the odd title, eh?
You KNOW it has to do with Matthew. And his odd and picky diet.
Did I mention his diet is picky? Once he hit the stage where he figured out he could decide his menu be screaming and crying about the food choices I selected, we were off on a frustrating adventure of limited, yet healthy snack food selection. For the past year, we have begun a battle of slowly introducing more food into his diet via various methods of enticement.
Hence – Chocolate Chicken.
The other evening I made a scrumptious meal of the old classic favorite chicken soup (save the applaus, ooh, and aaahs for later, please) and Matthew was rather enjoying the noodles. (Noodles and rice were a recent addition to his list of favorites – PRAISE THE LORD!) We told him there were chicken nuggets in the soup. More specifically chick-fil-a chicken nuggets.
Thou shalt not lie.
O, Lord, fogive us in the name of nutrition, please?
No matter, it didn’t work.
Daddy brought out the big guns. The chocolate. The candy-covered hershey’s chocolates. God bless Hershey, Pennsylvania.
After much bartering and tasting and battling, Matthew finally tried a piece chicken, immediately followed by a piece of chocolate. And when I say, immediately – it was nearly in the same bite. Therefore, it really must’ve tasted like…
Chocolate Chicken.
Whatever works, right?
