In Memory of Grandpa

My grandpa, the only one I ever knew, went home to the arms of his Savior today…I can only imagine the streets of gold that he is walking on, his mind now intact; no “Grandpa” shuffle as we adoringly called it haunting his steps, but instead dancing as fast as his feet will take him.   And don’t forget, they also play “The Yellow Rose of Texas” in heaven…  *wink, wink*…

So here he is, my beloved Grandpa…he and my husband share the same birthdate, and both engineers…go figure.  :)

Grandpa Greer, December 10, 1927 – December 12, 2007  I love you, Grandpa.

Yea, we actually caught him smiling for a picture, imagine that?  :)

  1. Tara, I’m so sorry. Your Grandpa sounds like an awesome grand-dad!
    My heart hurts for you and your family. It is so hard to say good-bye. May God hold each of you close to His heart and carry you through the most difficult days ahead. {{{hugs}}}

    Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

    My family loves yellow roses and being from Texas, we love the “Yellow Rose of Texas” song. We had yellow roses at my sis’ funeral.
    Wouldn’t be neat if your Grandpa meets my Dad and sister in Heaven and they sing and dance to the “Yellow Rose of Texas?”

    We are praying for you and your entire family.

  2. Thank you Tara for sharing those wonderful pictures of your Grandpa. Please know that I will continue to pray for you and your family this weekend. I pray that you will have a flood of sweet memories and stories of your grandfather to share with your family. Play beautifully for him like I know you will. I love you my dear friend. Be safe and call me when you get home.

  3. Love, I am sorry for your loss and continually am encouraged by your understanding in these times. I am praying for you and yours.

  4. Oh Tara…Your Grandpa looks like such a sweet man. I pray the Lord’s comfort to be with you and your family as you remember his life.
