So About Pottery Barn…

A little while back when I was telling ya’ll a little about our house remodel and the progress we had made, I had commented on Pottery Barn and my thoughts on their price range and my dreams on shopping there someday.  It turns out my mother-in-law and sister-in-law have an eye for detail (unlike SOME people I am married to who completely ignore actual blatant hints that are not so subtly dropped on a daily basis) for ideas on what to get me for my birthday.

Last week, I got not one but TWO, yes I said TWO, Pottery Barn gift cards in the mail as birthday gifts, and oh, be still my heart.  I could not get myself to my computer fast enough to see what items were now at the store and on sale.  Previously, I would peruse and dream or look for ideas on how to decorate then shop at Target or other much less costly stores for similar items.  Now…I had $125 burning a hot hole in my pocket.

Saturday, I left the kids and hubster at the ole dwelling place and took off by myself to the mall for a little bit o’ shopping.  (Note:  For those of you who might think gift cards are impersonal, I do tend to agree, however, for those of us with small children consider that the shopping trip alone is a gift in and of itself!)  I must’ve wandered around Pottery Barn forever.  I’m sure the sales ladies were wondering why I kept walking in circles.  I just couldn’t decide!!  Not to mention, it was ALL on sale…really, how can a girl refuse a sale?

I ultimately chose a BBQ entertaining and serving set – something fun, useful, and never out of style, right?

I absolutely could not resist this condiment set.  Just adorable!  I also got this serving platter - and its MUCH bigger than it looks in the picture.  Perfect for Low Country Crab Boils!  I also got this serving bowl in red.  Its fabulous!  From this picture, I got two large red dinner plates and will use them as serving platters as well since if we are eating outside, I plan on using paper products.  And lastly, from this picture you will see the ice bucket (or silverware holder or six-pack holder or whatever-you-want-it-to-be-holder) in white and a little bucket.  I got three of the little buckets – one each in red, white and blue and the ice bucket, which conveniently has a bottle-opener attached.  Cute, huh?

So many thanks to my wonderful inlaws for that wonderful gift!  Can’t wait to have a low country boil down here using that great set with you guys!  Love ya!

To round off my shopping extravaganza, I made a stop at Victoria’s Secret, which is holding their Semi-Annual sale.  I usually only shop there twice a year – during these sales.  :)   And for good reason.  Fun stuff!
