I love God. I love His Word. And I love it when He is blunt.
I recently shared with you all some of the Scriptures from Proverbs that stood out to me for one reason or another. Now I am reading through Isaiah and here is one that was rather, um, direct.
19 O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you. 20 Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. 21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” 22 Then you will defile your idols overlaid with silver and your images covered with gold; you will throw them away like a menstrual cloth and say to them, “Away with you!”
Have you ever come home to your dog having dug out a trashed (ahem) feminine napkin and find it all over your living room carpet? There is not much grosser than that. It smells, it is disgusting…really, need I go on? Just the thought is turning my stomach!
How much more so does the thought of His children loving a false god disgust God? I tell you what…that really brought it home for me. Yuck.
So…what is an idol for you? Money? Worry? TV? Gossip? Throw it away…its as disgusting as a used Kotex pad.
He sure can be direct and to the point, can’t He? ![]()

I’m doing a study on Isaiah too!
But I can guarantee you that the phrase ‘feminine napkin’ never entered my mind.
Girls’ blogs are yucky!

Ha! I see why now…my study guide moved from chapter 11 straight to chapter 36. Thank goodness!
