Randomness 48

randomness

  • I’m munching on fresh, hot out-of-the-oven homemade bread as I am typing this.  Oh, baby.  You KNOW you want to try this yourself, you KNOW you do!  (Ahem, Shannon.)
  • I have a whole chicken cooking in the crock pot, too.
  • No, I’m not having food issues, today, why do you ask?
  • I got a PotteryBarn Kids catalog in the mail the other day.  On the inside front cover, it said:  Moms are asking, “What are easy, affordable ways to make the summer special for my kids?”  Answer:  Turn the pages and take a look!
  • Seriously?!  I would have laughed if it wasn’t so laughable.  Tote bag:  $69.  Uh, huh.  Sure.  Because I have $69 to spare.  On a tote bag.
  • My $1 reusable shopping bag from the grocery store is multi-purpose for a reason.  Call me cheap, it’s ok.
  • Used tote in my closet:  $0.  Beach towels from years past:  $0.
  • Now THAT’S affordable, my friends.
  • In twenty years, my kids are not going to remember the tote bag with fantastic stripes or their name on it.  They are going to remember how much fun we had at the beach.
  • I mean really, do I remember the luggage we used on our vacations?  Nope.  I remember the fun we had.
  • I’m done slaying sales pitches now.  :)
  • What is it with me and soap boxes lately?  Geesh.  Might start scarin’ all ten of ya’ll away.
  • I need more bread.
  • Time for a Going for 101 in 1001 list update:
    • 97.  I watched The Godfather.  Wow!  It was really good!  Second installment is on its way from Netflix.
    • 72.  I did pay for the food of someone in line behind me at a drive-thru.  I felt all spy-ish and drove away pretty fast just in case they didn’t like someone paying for their food.  You never know what people get offended about these days!  It was pretty fun though.  Hehehehe…  Sneak attack!  You should try it sometime.

  1. I have always wanted to pay for stuff for people like that.

I am with you on Pottery Barn? How to have an affordable summer? THROW AWAY THIS CATALOGUE!

  2. I do believe I have been challenged.

Really (she said snootie-ly with her nose in the air)(maybe a little *huff* of indignation to really show her disdain at such a thing)

As if I would ever stoop to such a level as to run off and bake bread because I was CHALLENGED.

    That would be…undignified.

*running off to find bread recipe and figure out if my oven goes to “bake bread without burning” setting and wondering if there is anything that looks like a bread pan in her storage area…much shopping and slaving is ahead!*

  3. You are a funny woman – love your randomness! I think I might try that fast food thing…I wonder how much fast food we could “donate” in the pay and runs for $69?
