- Since we are on vacation, we you get a “Vacating Randomness 52″ post.
- I am currently relaxing on the front porch of this wonderful Bed & Breakfast in Asheville, NC listening to the birds chirp, smelling the sweet flowers, looking out over the incredible gardens…
- …while Chris takes an afternoon siesta in our room.
- Tonight is our last night here.
- Sad, but true.
- Happy, but true.
- You understand the bittersweetness of the moment, right?
- I’m ready to see my babies, but wow – this has been great.
- Bringing life to a screeching halt and breathing in some fresh mountain air is just good for…
- ..the lungs. And the soul.
- We went white water rafting yesterday afternoon – rain was forecast so why not go for the full-on water effect? Just jump in the river.
- So fun!
- We reserved the half-day excursion down the French Broad River, but with all the rains this area has seen, the river was running high and fast. Upon arrival, the guide asked if it was ok to do the full-day excursion as it would be the same amount of time as the half-day because of the river’s level.
- Like we had to think about it. Suuuuuuuure.
- Well, it took all of 90 minutes to make that stretch of river. We could’ve done it TWICE.
- Nope, we didn’t fall out.
- The scenery was gorgeous, just incredible. We saw a portion of the Appalachian Trail that runs right beside the water. We saw campers who camped too close to the water and who would probably have to run to high ground at the next storm.
- We even saw someone weedeating at the edge of the water. That one made NO sense to me. The guide said there was a campground there, but, um, yea…still made no sense. I laughed so hard.
- I mean, if you’re camping next to a river in a forest, does weedeating matter?
- The things that make you go, hmmm…..
- I swerve.
- Wanna see pictures?
- Sure you do.
- Comin’ right up…
Yay! You got away!
Yes, the weedeating is really weird. UNLESS! maybe they hate that tickle feeling on their calf when they go to rinse off the camp dishes?
I could almost feel the mountian air in my lungs…so jealous!
Isn’t it the pits struggling with wanna-go-away wife and never-leave-the-babies mommy? You can never make both of them happy.
Question: do you guys go away with the intent of doing something specific? I have heard of doing marriage checks, weekend couples bible studies etc. Or did you just focus on not focusing on things?
