These were great. I loved the fact that I could see the “joyous reunion” of the boys. Yes, the manly chest bump is coming.

“we can figure it out later”? Hysterical! I saw that as bored and sassy. Did you get that all worked out?

No problem! Which grammar are you using (so I know to avoid it)? We do like CC. It’s a bit intense and sometimes I can’t keep up but the kids LOVE it. You could do it on your own at home? Some moms in our group drive a long ways to come.

Thanks Tara! Cole is technically 2nd grade, but we just started grammar this year and he hates what we are using. It’s a bit much. I’m going to check out FFL because it sounds like something we would like much more. I wish we had a Classical Conversations group nearby. I love everything I hear about it.

Hope, I don’t think you to use them together at all. (I’m no expert though!) I think they stand alone just fine. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever been at the “same place” in the books at the same time. They only thing they tell you is not to do duplicate assignments. For example, if there is a reading passage with comprehension questions in FLL, then just skip it because WWE covers it so well. I’m very happy with FLL, because it is so interactive, I think? G has a lot of workbooks already and I didn’t want yet another workbook for him to do (even though he loves them). Grammar can be so dry and this helps us learn it through conversation and verbal memorization. I then reinforce as it comes up in WWE or any other copywork we are doing.

Great minds think a like! So glad we are using some of the same stuff! I will probably pick your brain later, too. I’m already thinking ahead to S…and what to do for her and how to do it together! Oh my!

Tara, sounds wonderful! We are using some of the same stuff as you. I have a question. I’m now using Writing With Ease but I’ve not started First Language Lessons. Do you have to use them together? Like if I started book one with First Language Lessons is it okay that we are in Book 2 of Writing with Ease. I really like Writing with Ease, but I have a different grammar book and don’t really like it.

SHOCKED when I saw your blog name light up in my RSS feed! Yay for some randomness from my sweet Friend! Not like I can complain; my blog readers (that silly handful) have to wait for my semi-regular-occasionally-redundant-often-reluctant-once-a-quarter-updates. But only if I feel like it. Ha! So are you telling me that my daughters aren’t the only ones who have a flair for the dramatic? How nice to know I’m not alone. Thanks for making me giggle this morning. :0)

The State of Israel was established in the year 5708 to the Creation of the World – and the 5,708th verse in the Torah reads, “And G-d will bring you to the Land inherited by your forefathers, and you will take possession of it, and He will do good to you…” (Devarim/Deut. 30,5)…

I was so excited when I saw this statement that I wanted to check it out for myself (and to have grid available whenever I wanted it). I created a spreadsheet for the 1st five books that would do the calculation for me as I entered chapter, verse, count, total count from Genesis/ Bereshis.

Hey Stranger-Lady! How are you! Irregular blogging is much better than the MIA blogging I have been offering up for the last little bit. hoping to change that soon though! Check out my new post!

Saw the pics of your butterfly garden. We have most of that stuff and in late summer it is like a butterfly swarm down the side of our house. Watch out for the monarchs. They will dive-bomb you! We get these little bitty ones that are super cute tho. You will probably get giant bumblebees too. We do anyway.

I am too embarassed by the state of my heels to go get a pedi, and the last time I got a full-set mani, a week to the day I dropped a bed on my thumb at youth camp and lost my REAL nail. Yep. I am always bringing the excitement.

Fun girly thing? flea markets and garage sales!!
